3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride, a novel complexing agent, is employed to stabilize bromine/polybromides and suppress Br diffusion. The chemical formula of 3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride is C6H15Cl2NO which containing 6 Carbon atoms,15 Hydrogen atoms,2 Chlorine atoms,1 Nitrogen atoms and 1 Oxygen atoms,and the molecular weight of 3-Chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride is 188.12. Based on the conventional pad-dry-pad-steam (PDPS) process, 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride is used as an etherifying agent to cationic cotton by the pad-irradiate process by microwave and then the cationized fabric was salt-free dyed by the pad-steam process. 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride can be used as a cationic reagent to prepare Cationic starches (CS) with preserved micro granular structure.

Cationic starches (CS) with preserved microgranular structure were prepared from potato starch, with 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethyl ammonium chloride as cationic reagent. CS with degree of substitution (DS) and reaction efficiency (RE) ranging from 0.05 to 0.84 and from 47.1% to 99.6%, respectively, were obtained by semidry cationization.

The simulation results based on actual run data demonstrated that the model using LS-SVM has high prediction accuracy and can be employed to predict the K/S value of dyed fabric using pad-irradiate-pad-steam process.
